When opportunity comes a knockin’

A little over a week ago, Howie and I were going over the bills and trying to figure out how much we’d need to save before his surgery so we’d be okay during his time off.

The subject of my getting a few temp jobs came up, and I inwardly cringed. Since 2000, I’ve enjoyed the largely unscheduled life of a homemaker, and I dislike the thought of having to be somewhere for a day job. Totally in the flesh there, I know.

Thinking that Howie’s website might get a good bit of traffic from the proposed article about us, I wrote our web host and asked if she had any suggestions for ways to include some advertising on his site. She came back with an offer to join the Saint Enterprises team as an independent contractor assisting with helping clients market their websites online. The marketing services is where I’m helping right now, and I hope to learn more and take on more jobs in the future.

It’s such an answer to prayer for us, because I really didn’t want to work outside home if I could avoid it. This is something I can do in my own decidedly nightowl hours.

My degree is in business management/marketing, so this is right up my alley; considering I’ve worked as an administrative secretary and done so much in spirit-sucking office environments through the years, this kind of work is like coming home to where I belong.

For those of you who don’t know, Saint Enterprises is the company who hosts both our websites. Mandi did both of our site redesigns and we’re beyond pleased with how everything looks and works; she makes it look so easy. If you or someone you know is interested in their services, please let them know you heard about them from me.

I’m proud to be associated with their company and to consider them friends.

  1. Testing. Tami’s comment didn’t show up until I clicked “Add Comment”. I’d even done a shift+refresh to load a clean copy of the page, but it still said “0 Comments”.

  2. Hi Kimberley, I just want to say that we are happy to have you with us here at SAINT Enterprises. If there is anything more we can do to help let us know.

    Take Care,

    Curt

  3. Thanks! It’s really an answer to prayer, and definitely a learning experience. So much has changed since I got my degree; as Roland of Gilead would say, “the world’s moved on”.
