Watching paint dry

You know the phrase, “as exciting as watching paint dry”? That’s our world today. I finished applying primer to the ceiling, got to sleep about 4am, and caught a few zzz’s until a sinus headache got me up out of bed at 8:30am.

We have one coat of ceiling paint up now, and we’re hoping that’ll be all it needs. We’re SO anxious to put that red primer on the walls!

In the meantime, I’m browsing websites in search for beautiforous things with which to accent our kitchen. I found some switchplates to die for (if I wanted to order enough for the whole house, Howie’d have to die so I could collect on his life insurance).

The plan, assuming the paint does dry and we can proceed, is for us to do the walls today and prime the wood trim. Then we’re going to eat dinner out somewhere, stop by Lowe’s and get paint for the trim and soffit. We may get a light fixture if there’s anything on sale, though I think I’ll end up getting one online for a better price. There’s no hurry on the light since John won’t start work until October 30th.

About that soffit, now. I think I’m going to do some sort of color wash on the soffit, something in golds, maybe. It’s pretty late in the game for me to be undecided, you think…

Nah, that’s just me.

  1. It is never too late to be undecided on the color so long as it is not already on the wall and even then it can be changed!
