Politics aside, this clip from the ACLU is both scary and funny. Companies already use caller ID data to bring up callers’ information and order history, so this isn’t that much of a stretch if other entities were linked into a huge database.
I have to give them this: they found a pretty creative way of getting their point across.
Have you ever messed around with one of those online translation sites, like Google Translate? It’s particularly fun to paste song lyrics into it, translate them to another language, then copy and paste the resulting text into the box and translate that back into English. Some phrases come back so twisted, they’re hardly recognizable. Well, today I ran across an entire website populated by what appears to be machine-translated copy.

I was reading some information on websites concerning protecting flower bulbs from chipmunks when this ad caught my eye. Doesn’t it look like she’s wearing a cat hat? What a funny combination to have shown up!
