Hit the ground running
Because my friend and co-worker Amanda’s been promoted to Manager In Training (congrats, Amanda!), we’re short-staffed at my job. Add to that the people down with the nasty flu bug that’s hit so many this year, and you get an idea of how tightly the schedule’s running at work.
So, I worked more the last week than I have in many months (including the months prior to my auto accident). I logged about 30 hours since Friday, a lot more than my typical 18 hours/week before the wreck. I worked Friday, then Sunday-Wednesday. This week, I’ve been much more active, my only restriction being on lifting more than ten or so pounds. It works out well since whichever co-worker’s there with me can swap out the heavy, full coffee urns when we brew fresh batches.
In a way, it’s like starting all over again, getting used to being on my feet so much and re-learning things which were automatic to me prior to being off work. I’ve been using my right arm as much as possible, too. I still need the Darvocet and Flexeril when at work and sometimes at night. They make me thirsty, so I drink plenty of water at work.
When I got home from work Wednesday, I was beat, but happy I did it! I hit the pillow about 4pm and, with the exception of a brief time up around 8pm, I pretty much slept straight through until late Thursday morning.Thursday I felt kind of cranky from too much sleep, but I felt rested. Aaaah. I stayed off my feet, most important of all. LOL All afternoon, I tinkered with the blog setups. They’re not quite where we want them yet, but at least I’m blogging again and Howie’s back in action, too. I’m still working on getting the old images correctly linked in posts.
To answer Brenda’s question, we switched hosts because we could pay less per year and have far more space. We were paying $140/year for only 500MB of shared space for our sites. We just signed on for two years at Hostmonster and now have 1,500 GB of space (that’s about 1.5 terabytes, yo). We’re paying around $160 now, but that’s for two years of hosting, and we now have a crazy amount of storage. Additionally, our friend William is a WordPress blogger and hosts with Hostmonster, so he has helped us navigate this stuff and get started.
P.S. Becca, I miss your blog. Any chance you’ll blog again? I hear you’re painting a lot, and I’d love to see your paintings!

It’s great to hear that you are back at work. I am sure they are grateful to have you back also!
