Thinking about iris and lilies

Iris and lilies are almost the perfect garden plants; they come in a huge variety of colors, fill our eyes and noses with pleasure, bloom at all different times of the season, plus they’re virtually no maintenance except popping the mush mummies off them when they’re spent. What more could we ask for as gardeners? They give us the gift of time to pamper and cajole the high-maintenance plant divas in our gardens.

I give you one of my favorites, a bearded iris, whose name I do not know:

  2. That is beautiful! Why was I thinking that iris’ only came in purple? That just shows how much I know ;)
