Are you survey savvy?
I’ve been participating in online surveys for about five years now, and really enjoy them. I’ve seen pre-release movie commercials, TV ads, and product ideas. I’ve even gotten samples at home to try and then report on when done; so far I’ve tested hand lotion, spaghetti sauce, and even toilet paper (the survey questions on that one were pretty detailed and product-specific, too). It’s fun, plus I’ve been compensated with cash incentives ranging from $1 to $50.
Wind, rain, hail and good samaratins
It’s a beautiful night and the pale flowers out front of the house look as pretty at night as they do in the daytime. The peace we’re enjoying now is a far cry from what it was like just seven hours earlier, though!
Death by Clutter
Back when we had a different ISP, I created several e-mail addresses for use with online forms, lists and memberships. The idea was to have junk mail go to one, mailing list posts to another, and private e-mail from friends to yet another. One of the accounts I created was death.by.clutter@nunnaya.biz (okay, so I fudged a little on that domain just now).
Roller coaster day
What a roller coaster day I had. My prescription for Celexa had run out this weekend and I had to have a refill phoned into Wal-Mart. I didn’t know they phoned it in yesterday, so went without it for two days.
If Life Gives You Cicadas, Make Cicada-ade
As warmer temps arrive, many Americans across the eastern half of the country are seeing the emergence of periodic cicadas. We always called them 17-year cicadas, but I’ve learned that different parts of the country witness different development timetables for these critters. Some broods, for instance, don’t take 17 years to complete development, but only 13 years.
Barley corpse foot
Howie worked an earlier shift today, so we just got back from grocery shopping. It’s felt sooo good to buy healthy foods and plan meals. He’s been doing the bulk of the cooking (especially anything requiring cutting, LOL) and doing the dishes, too.
A girl could get used to this.
Dumbing down of Coke commercials
We just watched one of the latest Coca-Cola commercials on TV and noticed a change since the last time we saw it. This is the ad in which a college age guy asks his buddy if he can have his Coke bottle cap. His buddy replies that he can have it if he’ll run around the house in his skivvies. Once the kid strips down and exits through the front door, he’s locked out.
